Pruitt Rejects Ban on Insecticide that EPA Found Dangerous

Despite studies showing a link between the Dow insecticide chlorpyrifos and neurological damage in children, EPA chief Scott Pruitt rejected a ban of the chemical, proposed a decade ago and supported by his own agency’s employees. Chlorpyrifos has already been banned for household use since 2001 but has remained a common agricultural pesticide. The New York Times reported that environmental groups are planning to seek a court order to enforce a ban. —ML
