George Scialabba, a long-time freelance book critic and contributing editor of The Baffler, is the author of four essay collections: What Are Intellectuals Good For?, The Modern Predicament, For the Republic, and Low Dishonest Decades (all from Pressed Wafer). A fifth collection, Slouching Toward Utopia, will be published in 2018.
